Ruby Foo was a dream that came true. Knowing absolutely nothing about fashion, manufacturing, marketing or distribution, Lucy decided to set up her own illustrated womens clothing label Ruby Foo and launched at Glastonbury 2002 and then went on to feature at the Big Chill festival.   In 2004, Ruby Foo exhibited as part of the Margin Streetwear Show during London Fashion Week and succeeded in getting the winter 2004/05 range sold to House of Fraser stores across the UK. Ruby Foo was a dream that came true. Knowing absolutely nothing about fashion, manufacturing, marketing or distribution, Lucy decided to set up her own illustrated women’s clothing label Ruby Foo and launched at Glastonbury 2002 and then went on to feature at the Big Chill festival. The label grew very slowly and was sold initially at Camden Lock market and in 2003 Lucy was entered into the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year award – when she represented the East and South East region overcoming high competition to be one of ten finalists in the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Ruby Foo didn’t win – but we thought out of 1500 entrants coming in the top ten was pretty good.
