Thursday, June 15th, 2006Margin is pleased to announce the results of the exchange programme with International Fashion Fair Tokyo.
Organised by leading Japanese fashion industry publisher Senken Shimbun, the International Fashion Fair (IFF) is one of the largest trade exhibitions in Japan. Directonal London-based womenswear label Girlgang who is exhibiting at Margin London in July 2006 has been selected by the IFF committee to exhibit free of charge in the directional hall called “Creators Village“.
By return, Japanese label Agent Knock from the Creator’s Village at IFF Tokyo has been selected by Margin to exhibit their unique range of mens denim, tailoring and knitwear in London.
Senken Shimbun have regularly visited to report on Margin since the shows started in 2002 and selected Margin as the only UK event to take part in the exchange programme based on the directional offering of labels.
The IFF is collaborating only with CPH Vision (Copenhagen), Rookies (Stockholm), Upside (Milan), and exclusively Margin from London.
Margin London takes place on the: 30th & 31st July 2006
with the IFF Tokyo taking place from the: 19th to the 21st July 2006

Wayne Pinnock studied a Masters in Fashion at the Royal College of Art, then went on to work as menswear designer at Gianfranco Ferre and Moschino.
Wayne Pinnock creates directional menswear blending casualwear with unstructured forms. Inspiration is drawn from a wide variety of influences, most notably natural history and about anything else that captures his imagination around him.
WaynePinnockLive trademarks are recognizable by drop-shoulder jackets, triangular pockets, hand/drawn prints, random fabric insertions - which create a sense of individualism and uniqueness.

Muffty started out as a successful mens bespoke tailoring service before the designer Leo decided to create his own line of mens ready-to-wear.
Muffty (which means casual clothing worn when off-duty especially when worn by someone who normally wears a uniform) is a London based label that specializes in Jackets, Polo shirts, Sweaters and Accessories.
All are made to reflect the brand philosophy of smart casual British tailoring utilizing both modern and traditional methods of garment construction. The range uses earth tones, and vegetal dye colours utilizing only the finest quality fabrics and places emphasis on structure and fit to create a crisp and unique look.

For their debut season, new label Tranzit has been inspired by traditional English outerwear and Japanese Street culture.
Tranzit was started by a group of young creative designers who were all looking for a young, stylish menswear brand for young professionals.
Incorporating heraldic symbols and subtle military themes, the Tranzit collection is a combination of office-wear and casual-wear, functional and stylish. Soft Tailoring is key for the whole collection resulting in a clean, relaxed yet sophisticated wardrobe. For this first season a grey wave has swept Tranzit’s collection, combined with moss green and accents of brown and orange.

Brighton-based design company Phonic Design, whose clients include Gola, Gabicci, Merc London, Hot Tuna & Devotee, have decided to spread love and peace with this brand new range.
Using no-sweat factories, and collaborating with six Brighton illustrators and designers, Peace Industries have created a collection with a series of thought provoking designs.
With tactile fabrics and vintage washes, the range includes tees, polos, vests, hoodies, trousers, and jackets with printed linings.

Handmade bag collection from Buyer-turned-Designer.
With her graduate collection snapped up by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia, Wendee Ou went on to work as a Buyer for Australian and British companies.
Wendee Ou left Sydney to base her studio in the East End of London to create durable yet sensuously tactile leather bags.
Referencing the Art Deco period, each bag is crafted by hand from a single piece of Italian or Japanese leather, and with various sizes aviailable provides a luxe and functional alternative to a handbag or briefcase.
