DrapersOnline.com A wave of new and emerging labels leant arty, artisanal and graphic driven personalities to T-shirt and lifestyle collections. Ultrarama The T-shirt label from Margin’s organiser, Ultrarama included zeitgeist-friendly pop art graphics of Coco Chanel – currently the subject of two films – alongside oversized stamp images and colourful slogans like 3D, Bring the Noise and Emperor of the Universe. Prices from £10 per T-shirt 07710 330805 Jojo and Mac Owner of Brighton shop Mamasam, Cindy Tsang unleashed her own in-store knitwear label Jojo and Mac at this Margin after buyers from Asos and Bentalls prompted her to wholesale. A 1950s personality infuses embellished intarsia styles with cutesy animal and Alice in Wonderland images. Prices from £19 to £22 07961 059141 Longshanks With terrace-boys targeted, the re-born Longshanks (it was formerly owned by a cadre of West Ham fans and is now owned by Refuel Distribution) majors on detailed pique and mercerised polos in plains and stripes, with football-colour crests and button-down collars. Checked shirts, hoodies, crew-necks and sweats also feature. Prices from £12.50 07775 421637 Denz & Son Two-year old Finnish T-shirt label Denz & Son made its UK debut with its quirky graphic-led looks. Prices from £11 to £14.50 00 358 400 999 732 Geelamuay Thai for boxing sports, Geelamuay was another debutant at Margin with a luxe-martial arts feel in mind and plenty of unusual construction details. Men’s hoodies, T-shirts and jackets are in its 52-piece range, which uses a tonal palette of black, grey and blue. Prices from £11to £175 08716 629279 New Love Club Nascent London T-shirt label New Love Club uses both baggy and slim fit silhouettes for its marriage of geometric prints and photo-graphics on T-shirts. Mosaic rectangles, sliced photography and cheeky blurred images of legs all feature as the palette stays mostly black and white with spikes of pink and purple. Prices: £10 per T-shirt 07961 184388 Un=Balance Pronounced “unequal balance”, this is another debutant with a confident graphic take on its designs – linear face drawings, pop-art aerosol spray graphics and official looking Government notices. The Manchester brand is created by Louis McCleary, formerly a designer for a high street supplier. Prices: £12 per T-shirt 07595 383938 Limited Ink With super-colourful and humorous graphics, Limited Ink stands out from the art-driven brands at Margin and its concept too, is unusual. The limited edition designs are all uploaded onto the website and voted for by users. The final products come with swing tags with info about the designers. Prices from £17 01908 220676 Tree Hugger A new brand from the same stable as Prophecy and Milla, Tree Hugger is all about on-trend womenswear in 100% organic cotton jersey with a generous markup. The dresses and tops have been exclusive to Asos until now. With three drops each season the youthful detailing includes cut-outs and shoulder pads. Prices from £10 to £16 020 7190 1682 Bagslag The confidently named Birmingham label Bagslag was debuting at Margin with leather clutches, bags and purses in hot pink, black and silver. Prices from £10.50 to £26 0121 288 0209 Vestal Californian skate derived brand Vestal hits ten-years-old this year and its watches were an accessories lynchpin at Margin. Quirky LED faces, metal and acetate materials and oversized styles all feature in a range that offers a 2.2 markup – watches usually come in at 2.0. Prices from £27 to £136 0117 935 5888 Arms On-trend silhouettes, a considered palette of neutrals with neon colour pops and its features like reverse fabrics under collars and pencil pouches, adds up to a function-led from aesthetic Irish brand Arms that would be at home on any Wallpaper reader. “Margin was perfect to showcase our first collection. We got a brilliant response and it was great to meet Buyers from all of the UK’s major cities and Europe. With Magazines from Brazil, Greece and Switzerland, it gave the show a real international feel too. Odysseas and his crew looked after us and made sure everything ran smoothly. The show has introduced us to new businesses and exposure which is fantastic for launching our brand.”
