Notes written in the Margin. So if your gonna be in London for TBC/FAO fashion shows then why not also go to the next edition of Margin London. With more underground brands than the usual shows it will be held on the 12th & 13th February 2006... A small show but with the added benefit that you might just see the next all conquering brand while they are still a little outfit and also you get to talk to the actual designers rather than just the PR girl or underpaid rep. Margin is a great alternative.

Music + August 2005 + Tokyo Dawn Records

TOKYO DAWN RECORDS

Tokyo Dawn Records are producing a limited-edition Margin CD exclusively for Margin visitors to the August 2005 edition as well as providing the soundtrack to the show. This collectors item CD features previously unreleased jewels from heavy weight artists such as Blue Eyes, Mercury Waters, Opolopo, Causes & Forces, Brownsville, E The Hot and many more.

Tokyo Dawn Records is the name of the tough little unit of producers, vocalists, jazz-instrumentalists, djs, designers and video-artists. They’ve been releasing music on the internet for free since 1997. improving skills, networking, studying underground strategies, gaining attention, avoiding musical scenes and sometimes even receiving an award or two inbetween. They stepped onto the scene as one of the very first ‘opensource music’ communities around and worked hard on improving their output ever since, even leading to special releases by Domu, Blaktroniks, Seiji, Alistair Colling, Sweet Abraham, Sad Rockets, Lackluster and many others. Tokyo Dawn became a fixed part of nearly all articles concerning the free music movement and the netlabel scene but have added to their output by releasing cds and vinyl since 2003.

THUNDERBOLT

Thunderbolt recreated a natural environment
in the main room at Margin 2003 with a specially
commissioned sound installation.

Using original field recordings the installation
drew attention to the sonic beauty and sources
of familiar natural sounds, evoking sensual memories.

Thunderbolt’s sound installations are easy to
relate to and use familiar technology such as portable
tape players, hi-fi’s and club sound systems.

Thunderbolt tempted visitors to take a break from
busy schedules by bringing the sounds of far away
to The Music Rooms for the Womenswear edition of

Margin August 2003.

Thunderbolt are sound art musicians, Catrin Jones
and Zoe Riddell, whose other work includes sound
installations and an on-going series of limited edition CD’s.
