Menswear Buyer
Margin Preview

AFTER MOVING TO A LARGER VENUE FOR THE LAST SHOW, THIS SUMMER MARGIN IS ATTRACTING A HOST OF NEW NAMES ALONGSIDE ITS REGULAR EXHIBITORS. MWBDIVERSION TAKES A LOOK AT A FEW OF THE BRANDS TO SEE THERE. F-RISK - F-risk's S/S 07 collection features jeans, trousers, shirts and jackets in all-natural linenes, cottons, denims and jerseys. Traditional Bristish tones and prints, with an urban twist, feature in the collection. Jeans and trousers wholesale from £60, shirts from £40 and jacketws from £75. ANON CLOTHING - The brand started by selling its T-shirts at the UK's summer music festivals in 2002 and will be showing its t-shirt line at Margin, with its vintage washed t-shirt in six original colours set to be popular. BEAUTIFUL EGO - Beautiful Ego launches its first collection, BEgin, at Margin. It is made up of T-shirts, sweats and polo shirts, as well as denims, and the founder and creator G. Franc hopes the show will increase brand awareness and introduce potential stockists. BLOCK HEADWEAR - Block Headwear is launching a limited edition range of men's bags at Margin and showing its scarf collection. The S/S 07 range is inspired by brach styling being brought to the city streets and the brand hopes to develop in the European and the UK markets. SEVENTYSEVEN - The brand's S/S 07 collection sees a range of directional pieces including T-shirts, Polo shirts, hoodies, kints, jackets and denim with the inspiration from the collection drawn from military themes and cult isoc graphics. UBIQUITY - Ubiquity started in 1991 as an independent record label in San Francisco. The label became notorious with big DJ names worldwide such as DJ Shadow and the Beastie Boys and, as the label's popularity grew, the clothing arm of the business was born. It started producing its T-shirt line in 1995 and this season sees the launch of new designs with musical tones. WEEKEND ROCKSTAR - In response to the inflitration of rock t-shirts on the market, Weekend Rockstar will be showing its line of distressed T-shirts and sweats with bold graphics and humour. The graphics for S/S 07 have been created by artists from illustrative magazine Le Gun. YAMAMA - With a flagship store in Brighton as well as being stockist in Sugarhill in Barcelona and Biscuit in Madrid, Yamama is showing its S/S 07 line fused with pieces from its a/w 06 collection at Margin. ISIS CASHMERE - Sultan Ansari and Naseem Akhtar launched printed cashmere label Isis Cashmere in A/W 05. This is the first time the brand has shown at Margin and it aims to open more accounts, with a focus on the overseas market. It is already available in high end independents in the UK including Cruise in Glasgow and Potassium in Marble Arch. CROSSFADER - Crossfader originated from a love of hip hop, skating and snowboarding and will be showing its range of swearshirts and hoodies at Margin, littered with bold design and vibrant graphics. SP:UK - SP:UK has a successful show last time out and this time is showing its a/w 06 collection comprising tees, hoodies and sweatshirts, each donning intricate design patterns. Ten artists feature in the collection promoting the brand's original remit of supporting independent artists. SP:UK currently has standalone stores in London and Bristol and a further 30 UK accounts. It hopes to use Margin to source other brands for its stores as well as potential stockists. UZI - US T-shirt brand Uzi is showing at Margin for the first time - its first ever show outside its home country. Fusing punk imagery with new inclusions taking inspiration from blow-up dolls, Japanese bondage scenes and gigantic patterns, the brand has a good following in Japan and its home city of New York, and hopes to increase its presence in the UK as a result of the show.

Seventyseven

Seventyseven

Seventyseven is the UK Premium Streetwear / Casualwear label sought after by those wanting to stand out from the crowd.

Started almost 4 years ago by Neil Fisher - both design and distribution is still controlled entirely at grass roots by themselves to ensure the label is as unique and independent as the quality retailers that stock Seventyseven. Edgy print based tee’s and sweats are backed up by innovative custom made Polo shirts, knitwear, accessories and feature packed outerwear.
