HELLOVON

Hellovon
Hellovon was begun half way into 2005 and has since risen to a warm reception across the world. Run by 25 year old London based illustrator Von, clients to date include Oglivy and Mather, Dazed and Confused and Esquire among many other magazines from both the UK and US.

His work draws strongly from the world of fashion, music and design to create sensitive but striking illustrations. Primarily grounded in traditional drawing and painting techniques the artwork is then executed digitally introducing random textures and found imagery.

Along the way Hellovon has spawned a sister company Vonhideki whose aim is to pit illustration against product design to come up with desirable and unique objects. Their work has been published in Icon, Vanity Fair, and Polished T among others.
Hellovon
Von exhibited pieces in the lounge at Margin in February 2006.

Lady Luck Rules OK
Yesterday and Sunday was our 4th time showing at Margin and we were all treated to a snazzy new location in Pimlico. Sam made me a booth using the logo wallpaper left over from Superette and I took my 1970s hanging chair which everyone enjoyed swinging in – especially Odysseas who runs Margin (see photo below). We’re happy to be re-stocking Social in West Hampstead, Eightball in Italy, Flying A in Switzerland which is now called Famous Ape and Thunder Egg in West Didsbury. Our new stores are Rift in Barcelona, Vertige in Lille, France, Ripe in Shrewsbury, Ark in York and Goodfella’s in Italy. Phew! We’re gonna be busy! The best seller was my new design “Valley Girl Hair Bobbles” which I’ll be adding to the site next week…

London Margin, the upscale streetwear exhibition, is continuing its quest to help young, urban brands reach a wider audience amongst key retailers and press. For many, Margin London was created out of necessity. Retailers travel the world looking for cult labels and the next big thing but rarely find at mainstream shows where costs prohibit fresh talent from taking part. The main drive of Margin London was to establish a show where new young labels could find an affordable platform. The exhibition has certainly succeeded and has delighted buyers and press alike with its mix of left-field brands and commercial successes waiting to happen. The next edition of Margin London be on the 12th & 13th February 2006.

Lady Luck Rules OK

Lady Luck Rules OK is a rollercoaster ride of fun jewellery created by Leona Baker, former fashion stylist in the music industry.

American pop culture, 1970s teenage annuals, punk rock, Japanese street fashion and trashy B movies provide inspiration. Leona travels globally and around the UK to source vintage and deadstock components from flea markets, thrift stores and warehouses which are broken apart to create unique pieces. Every product is then assembled by hand in London and sold in limited edition quantities through independent boutiques, department stores and galleries around the world.
