Vergessen, die Angst vor den Messen und Trade Shows, die immer das gleiche bieten, als auch die ersten fünf Stände, die dich mit dem Gefühl zurücklassen: Alles schon tausend Mal gesehen. Margin London zeigte uns am 8. und 9. Februar 2009 wie besonders solch ein Spektakel sein kann. Vor sieben Jahren fing sie mit acht Ausstellern klein an und hat bis heute nichts an ihrem intimen Reiz verloren. Sie präsentiert gehobene Streetwear und ist eine der besten Plattformen für neue Talente. Der Gründer Odysseas, ein eingefleischter Modefanatiker, hat die 60 Aussteller selbst ausgesucht und versucht dabei den Charme einer kleinen Wunderkammer gut sortierter Kostbarkeiten zu erhalten. Internationale Brands und unterschiedliche Styles treffen aufeinander und versprechen Gefallen für jedermann. Darunter waren unter anderem wunderschöne Lederschuhe von Rae Jones, zuckersüsser Schmuck mit gesalzenen Sprüchen von The French Factory und coole Shirts mit ironischen Prints von I Am Colin. Margin London showed us on the 8th and 9th of February 2009 what an event can be. Seven years ago Margin started small with eight exhibitors, and has not lost its intimate charm today. It presents upscale streetwear and is one of the best platforms for new talents. The founder Odysseas, a diehard fashion fanatic, selected the 60 exhibitors to create the charm of a small Curio Cabinet stocked with well-edited treasures. International brands and different styles come together to proffer favourites to please everyone. These included, amongst others, beautiful leather shoes by Rae Jones, sugary jewels seasoned with sayings from The French Factory, and cool shirts with ironic prints from I Am Colin.
