Exhibitor Spotlight: Dream Nation
DREAM NATION
It’s not that often a new brand comes along offering something fresh. It’s incredibly rare when that street-influenced brand is aimed at women and children rather than men. Add to the mix that the brand only works with certified organic cotton and bamboo and you’d think it couldn’t get anymore unique, but then you discover that Dream Nation is from Poland, not traditionally know for it’s contemporary or premium streetwear, and you’ve got a gem of a discovery on your hands.
Hailing from Warsaw, Dream Nation is passionate about their use of organic fabrics which are then digitally printed with the designs of the label’s founder and designer Luiza Jacob who says “We stand for taking responsibility for our consumer choices. We believe in putting something in when putting something on.”
The women’s collection includes a wide range of dress shapes and tops as well as a huge selection of leggings and hammer-pants, all printed with unique designs, from geometrics to photographs.
The childrenswear includes tops and bottoms in great prints on organic fabrics that make sure the little darlings never have to put any chemically-treated fabrics next to their precious skin.
Whilst the directional range will understandably appeal to a younger age group, we can see women of all ages adoring Dream Nation’s printed leggings and tops that add a unique pop of individuality and colour to any outfit.
Dream Nation use bamboo which is silky-soft, naturally antibacterial and breathable, with a cooling feel and grown in an environmentally friendly way. Don’t think for a minute that clothing with a conscience costs more, the prices are incredibly affordable given their uniqueness and eco-credentials, with leggings starting at only £50 retail and kids pants retailing from £20.
Dream Nation will be making their UK trade show debut at Margin London in August 2013 and, as part of the exclusive exchange programme between Margin and the IFF show in Japan, Dream Nation has been selected to debut at the Tokyo exhibition from the 17th to the 19th July 2013.
Organised by leading Japanese fashion industry publisher Senken Shimbun (like Drapers, but bigger; they publish a newspaper daily as well as monthly magazines), the International Fashion Fair (IFF) is the largest trade exhibition in Japan. Senken Shimbun have regularly visited to report on Margin since the shows started in 2002 and selected Margin as the only UK event to take part in the exchange programme based on the directional offering of fresh talent and new labels.
Find Dream Nation at the IFF show from the 17th to the 19th July at the Big Sight Exhibition Centre, and at Margin London on the 4th & 5th August 2013, at the new venue of the Hilton Olympia, next to Kensington Olympia Tube & Train Station and adjacent to the Olympia Exhibition Halls.
