Margin London x IFF Tokyo Exchange Programme +
Margin is still the only UK event exclusively running an exchange programme with IFF, Tokyo’s largest fashion trade event.
Confirmed exhibitors at the August 2013 edition of Margin, which takes place on the 4th & 5th, are able to apply to exhibit free of charge at the IFF show in Tokyo from the 17th to 19th July 2013.
Applications to take part in the long-standing exchange program are now open. Brands wishing to apply for the exchange should get in touch for the Application Form and Application procedure.
Successful applicants, selected by the show curators at Senken Shimbun, receive a free booth at the IFF show, in the Creator’s Village area, which includes 3 rails or shelves, walling, lighting, table & chairs, as well as a shared interpreter to translate. Exhibitors are responsible for their own travel & accommodation costs.
“Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say a massive thank you! IFF was great for us, we met buyers, distributors and agents which we would have probably never had the opportunity to cross paths with. Thank you so much for organising this.” Isy & Peeps
“I enjoyed the whole experience at Margin and the exchange program it provides. Margin provides a really good platform for young up-and-coming designers.” Judy Wu
Organised by leading Japanese fashion industry publisher Senken Shimbun (like Drapers, but bigger; they publish a newspaper daily as well as monthly magazines), the International Fashion Fair (IFF) is the largest trade exhibition in Japan, with 800 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors. The majority of exhibiting brands are naturally Japanese alongside international brands such as February, Happy Socks, and Alpha Industries, exhibiting in the Creator’s Village area for directional labels, looking to meet with Japanese buyers.
Senken Shimbun have regularly visited to report on Margin since the shows started in 2002 and selected Margin as the only UK event to take part in the exchange programme based on the directional offering of fresh talent and new labels.
