Margin to highlight directional denim Wednesday, 23 July 2008 The upmarket streetwear tradeshow Margin has announced the creation of a new area called Selvage to highlight directional denim brands. Selvage will featuring cutting-edge premium jeans from Trousers London, organic and fairtrade denim from Chance and French brand NU, directional washes and embroidery from Japanese labels True Brit and Kyoto Denim, design-led denim womenswear from Bulgarian label Mystic, premium mens casualwear from Allopop, and other denim labels. Margin is well known amongst key buyers and press for providing an affordable launchpad for new labels and the August 2008 edition is no exception with over 80% of exhibitors making their UK debut at Margin. Originally established to provide a relevant showcase for upscale streetwear brands the show has expanded gradually and carefully each season to encompass additional product areas. The sharp tailoring and elegant designerwear of the Kreateur area has been honed each season to highlight cutting-edge garments and the August 2008 edition will be the largest Kreateur offering to date. The accessories area GILD was added to the show to focus on directional accessories and the 101 Room is an area of Margin created to highlight brand new labels launching their first collection. Margin will take place on the 3rd 4th & 5th August 2008 at The Vinyl Factory Gallery, London W1.

Margin stays ahead of the game Written by Steph Pomphrey at 21:35 on July 16th, 2008 Six years and counting. Margin is still at the forefront of new streetwear fashion talent, providing an affordable stage where other shows fail to deliver. With five areas one might assume a big show, but this is where Margin differs by providing an unpretentious vibe and selected brands. Tru Thoughts are providing the soundtrack to the show; Fatsarazzi is displaying his photographic skills in the Lounge area; and SELVAGE is the new denim area to add to the existing GILD, KREATEUR, SPACE101 and TEE ROOM areas. New brands at the show include Nooka Watches, Helen Rochfort, Ultrarama, Violet Elegance, Super Superficial, Trousers London, Nu Jeans, Allopop, Dagg & Stacey, Missmilne, Emily & Fin. So if you're a buyer, editor, stylist, fashion blogger, pr monkey, or simply at a loose end (within reason) then make it to Margin and get some inspiration. These brands are there because they have something new to offer, and we could do all with a bit of direction occasionally right? Margin - 3rd, 4th & 5th August
