FashionUnited + International Brands at Margin in New Olympia Venue

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Thanks to FashionUnited:

International Brands at Margin in New Olympia Venue Following the corporate involvement of ITE Moda in Jacket Required, S-London, and Scoop, Margin remains the only independent fashion trade show in London, as well as the longest-running, since starting in 2002 to provide an affordable platform for new, young and emerging brands. Alongside the many UK brand debuts that Margin is well known for, the exhibition is welcoming numerous international brands, making their UK or European debuts at the show this August. On the 4th & 5th August, at the new Margin venue in Olympia, exhibitors will gather from countries including China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the USA, to name a few. Brand new international labels will be making their debut at the show including Itsie Bitsie, Schmatta, Dream Nation, Romy Rory, Bijouxellery, Lecicale, Stars & Tart, and T-Republic, alongside many UK debuts such as Cut Out Girls, Cheek LDN, Thfkdlf, Holly & Ruby, Clon8, Jeanne & Jane, Afonteyne, and Seven Lives. Portugal will be strongly represented at Margin London by the new in-house menswear collection from directional independent boutique Wrong Weather, contemporary womenswear by designers Os Burgueses, and heritage sneakers by Sanjo, the long-running footwear brand that was established in 1933 and will be finally making their UK trade debut at Margin. Margin provides an affordable platform for new, young, and emerging designers to present their collections to buyers and press and, since the first edition in 2002, has consistently been the jumping-off point for international brands looking to introduce their ranges to the UK and European market, such as Upper Playground, Ayame Socks, Loreak Mendian, and Stereo Sound Agency, who all made their UK tradeshow debuts at Margin London. As well as the new launches that Margin is known for, many previous exhibitors are returning to showcase their latest ranges at the show in August 2013, including Get Cutie, The Illustrated Mind, Out of Print, Palmer Cash, Violette Room, Fanpac, D4Discus, C Grand London, Fairytales & Hidden Notes, and Karim Maher (who has recently renamed his menswear brand which previously launched at Margin under the brand name Beik). Margin London is an edited trade show which handpicks the best new brands launching for the season so buyers don't have to waste time browsing large exhibition halls to hunt out exciting new brands to offer their shoppers something fresh. Margin curates the show to present the edit of the season from new, young and emerging UK and international brands, offering menswear, womenswear, accessories, designerwear, or streetwear. Margin is moving location for August 2013, following a survey of buyers and press, to the Westminster Suite in the HIlton London Olympia, to which visitors will be able to make the 5 minute walk from the Olympia Exhibition Centre without having to take taxis or public transport to visit the show. The move has been unanimously praised by stores with buyers from ASOS, House of Fraser, Joy, Frontline, and Beales already confirming their attendance as well as many other department, multiple, and independent stores. Indie womenswear boutique Eternal Envy in Heaton Moor said "we're delighted with the move Margin are making to Olympia. As stalwart supporters of such a great trade show, we're looking forward to the increased space too, to fit in even more fab designers." Eden in Edinburgh added "Great news about Margin! The venue move will allow me to fit more buying into my London visit in August." The 24th edition of Margin London takes place on the 4th & 5th August 2013 at the new venue of the Hilton Olympia, next to Kensington Olympia Tube and train station. Margin exists to promote young upscale streetwear and directional tailoring labels. The trade fair exhibition Margin London was established to help new labels reach a wider buying and press audience. The trade shows Margin London were created out of necessity. Retailers travel the world looking for "the next big thing" but are never going to find it at a fashion tradeshow whose costs prohibit fresh talent which is where the Margin upscale streetwear exhibition plays a vital part.

The main drive of Margin London was to establish a show where new fashion brands and "up and coming" design talent could find an affordable platform to exhibit at Margin London and expose their collections with a directional edge to the UK & international fashion trade and press. Margin is a fashion exhibition in London presenting fashion collections from fashion labels based in London and internationally.

Margin in London is now a firm must-visit fixture on the international trade show and fashion fair calendar for directional independent boutiques, multiples & department stores across the UK, Europe and Japan looking to source pure design talent outside of the mainstream +
The London Fashion Exhibition in London is long-standing and has been running since August 2002. The August 2013 edition marks the occasion of the 24th show of the Fashion Exhibition in London and marks 11 years of Margin. Margin is a clothing trade show taking place in the UK in London in August 2013. Most exhibitors, menswear and womenswear, are new designers launching their ranges for the first time globally, some of whom treat their tailoring ranges of clothing, including jackets, with a couture-like attention to detail, personally creating their pure vision, stitch by stitch, with the required skill set for directional menswear and womenswear. New brands at Margin means brand new, other shows generally mean new to them: Margin means new to the world and making their global debut.
Margin London features the following categories of exhibitors as well as others:

Upscale streetwear, directional tailoring, skatewear, boardwear, surfwear, urban wear, london fashion, international fashion , youthwear, menswear, womenswear, lifestyle products, jeanswear / denim, giftwear, t-shirts / tees, accessories such as bags, jackets, jewellery (jewelry), hats / headwear, footwear / shoes, directional pattern cutting, creative elegance and street couture; most of which are stitched with love and care by the designer-makers themselves.
